Transportation

Manchester Regional Airport

Manchester Regional Airport is a great alternative to Boston. It is quick & simple to arrive & depart! Occasionally, tickets will be more expensive than flights to and from Logan Airport.

Although sometimes headache inducing, Logan is the nearest large airport able to accommodate international flights. Often flights into Boston are less expensive than flights into Manchester.

Things to Do

Wallis Sands Beach

Just five miles from downtown Portsmouth and a few steps from St. Andrew’s By The Sea, Wallis Sands is arguably the best beach in the world. IN THE WORLD.

Continue down Route 1 and you’ll find many more incredible beaches including Jeness Beach, Rye Beach State Park, North Beach and the North Hampton State Beach.

Strawberry Banke

For those unfamiliar with Portsmouth, Strawbery Banke is a great jump-off point. As it was then known, Strawbery Banke is the original Portsmouth; the first settlement along the water in the 17 century. The homes & shops are preserved to walk along. Strawbery Banke is also directly across the street from Prescott Park, a waterside park with piers and public gardens.

Gilley's

Since 1940, Gilley’s has been a Portsmouth institution. Dylan’s been eating at Gilley’s since he was a kid and Dylan’s parents have too. A small trailer located on Fleet Street, Gilley’s serves the best burgers and cheese fries you’ll ever have.

The Press Room

The Press Room is a great little watering hole right in the center of town where you can find live jazz and blues 7 nights a week. Oh, and a nice selection of beers.
